We live our lives inside our phones Scrolling endlessly To fill the gaps in time Re-reading rhetoric To regurgitate later To our fellow man Who re-read the same While scrolling endlessly Living inside their phone What a strange new world We live here, but we don’t We hardly live at all We experience things only to share them Get the photo op and be on our way It’s so sad and so addicting A hamster wheel of minimal doing And maximum sharing If we could portion off just the good Just the connection piece A bit of the convenience piece The worldwide knowledge, the helpful piece And then break free quickly To join the world again It would be so much better...
